Work Environment

Office Environment

As our flagship location, Chinook is a well-established clinic with experienced support staff and educators. Our clinic is located on the second floor with a large waiting room and 10 examination rooms. The rooms are bright, clean and overlook Macleod Trail. Our Education Centre is located on the main floor to conveniently provide patients with education and support post-appointment. Working at the Calgary location as a physician means they get supported from each member of the team. Our goal is to ensure the physician can set the number of patients they wish to see. Patients get accessed by clinical extenders, if the physician chooses to work with them, before seeing the physician to do any pre charting and help with any concerns. When the physician is ready to consult with their patient and determine if medical cannabis is the right treatment option for them, all they need to do is go over their pre-set questions, sign off on the patients the medical document and send the patient to complete education with one of our patient educator team members.

You will have access to multiple medical professionals while working at NHS. In the clinic, you will have access to Medical Office Assistants (MOA) and Clinical Extenders. The MOA will ensure that both the clinic and physician schedules run smoothly throughout the day, while performing all administrative and clinical tasks. Clinical Extenders will help conduct patient appointments and assist in tasks delegated by physicians or clinic manager.

Systems

You will be trained to use our proprietary prescribing technology.
As a support system, Natural Health Services has an Education Centre at each of our locations. At our Calgary location, our Education Centre is one floor down from our clinic for ease and convenience. After their clinical appointment, patients will go to the Education Centre as an extra level of support in their medical cannabis journey. There, patients have access to Patient Educators, who will assist them in registering for their medication with a Licensed Producer, as well as answer any and all cannabis related questions they may have. Patient Educators are in place to support the physicians by educating patients on accessing their prescription when it comes to ingestion and preparation.

Community/Neighbourhood

The clinic is located in Chinook Park Plaza, next to Chinook Centre.
Natural Health Services is situated on MacLeod Trail, which allows for easy access for both
pedestrians and vehicles. The clinic is located in a heavily populated area, surrounded by local
businesses and residential developments.
