Job Details

Full-time, Part-time & Locum Palliative Care Physicians Fraser Health requires Palliative Care Physicians for Palliative Care in Surrey, B.C, and surrounding communities, providing physician support to our Surrey Memorial Hospital (Palliative Complex Care Services and acute care consults), neighbouring acute care site consults, and community consultation services. There is a long-term locum opportunity (six months) and the possibility of ongoing permanent positions. Our integrated, regional, comprehensive hospice palliative care program provides hospice palliative care services in a number of settings including 30 Palliative Complex Care beds; consult services in 12 acute care sites as well as in the community and other settings; and support to 113 Hospice beds. In addition to the provision of diverse clinical activities, we also provide under-graduate and post graduate teaching in affiliation with the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have completed a year of added competency program in palliative medicine, will have acquired the Certificate of Added Competence (CAC) through the College of Family Physicians of Canada, or have a minimum of four (4) years of palliative care experience and is eligible for the CAC through the currently active competence verification route. Eligibility for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia is required, and preference will be given to candidates certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

We currently manage 4,200 births per year and have recently opened a new tower with a 46 bed single room maternity care unit, a 48 bed single room Level 2/3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a dedicated maternal operating room.
