Schedule Description

Call is one week with Internist covering ICU and internal medicine consults. Call is one week with Tuesday and Thursday night covered, by colleague (Monday morning until Monday morning).

Flexibility

Above dates are flexible. Looking for General Internist to cover paternity leave call. Call is 1 week per month and could include any weeks over this period

Job Details

Fantastic opportunity for a General Internal Medicine specialist to locum at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. The locum position is flexible and covers inpatient care approximately 1 week per month. Call covers Internal Medicine consults as well as ICU. The ICU has 6 beds and is a closed unit, run by the Internist.

On-Call/After Hour Requirements

Call is 1 week and is from Monday to Monday. Tuesday and Thursday nights (after 4 pm) are covered by a colleague until 0800 hours the following morning.

Qualifications

Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
Doctorate in Medicine
Eligible for full licensure with CPSBC
Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
ACLS

East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is a 77 bed regional referral centre, serving a catchment area of approximately 80,000 people in the East Kootenays. The 4 floor facility offers 24/7 emergency services with 16 beds, a brand new state of the art 6 bed ICU, a full range of medical and surgical services including Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pathology, Psychiatry and Radiology and Urology
